New collagen and elastin production is quintessential for all skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Skin Needling instantly stimulates new collagen production. It has been found to continue for up to 12 months, resulting in an improvement in skin firmness, texture and a softening and lifting action on scars and wrinkles.

IPL (Intense Pulse Light)
In Advanced Beauty IPL is used to get true Results. The technology uses a high-powered, hand-held, computer-controlled flashgun to deliver an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light, generally in the visible spectral range of 400 to 1200 nm. Various cut off filters are used to selectively filter out lower wavelengths, especially potentially damaging ultraviolet light. The resulting light has a spectral range that targets specific structures and chromophores (e.g. melanin in hair, or oxyhemoglobin in blood vessels) that are heated to destruction and reabsorbed by the body. IPL shares some similarities with laser treatments, in that they both use light to heat and destroy their targets. But unlike lasers that use a single wavelength (color) of light which typically matches only one chromophore, and hence only one condition. IPL uses a broad spectrum that when used with filters, allows IPL to be used against several conditions. This can be achieved when the IPL technician selects the appropriate filter that matches a specific chromophore.
What can be treated with IPL?
Skin Rejuvenation Covers, Acne, Capillaries, Small Veins, Pigmentation, Age Spots, Enlarged Pores,
These very specific pulses go through the skin where they’re absorbed by the hair root. This causes the follicle to shrink reduces the hair density.
IPL works on the pigment within the hair, preferably the darker the hair the better results.
It will take up to 3 weeks for the hair to shed out of the follicle. The treated follicle normally don’t regrow, however, if the hair is strong or not enough heat was absorbed into the follicle hair can reappear. Normally following treatments the hair will be destroyed and no hair will regrow. This depends on the hair growth pattern see chart below
Anagen Hair Growth Stage This stage is the beginning phase of hair growth. This is when the hair is visible on the skin and is still attached to the papilla. The papilla is a knoblike vascular indentation of the bottom of the hair follicle on which the hair bulb fits. (Definition courtesy of dictionary.com) This hair growth Anagen phase is ideal for IPL hair removal because since it is still attached to the papilla the light can attack the papilla and prevent any new growth. This stage lasts for about 2-4 weeks and occurs for both facial and body hair.
Will the hair be gone forever? Some hair will still grow back as there are millions of tiny little hair follicles. There is no guarantee that every single hair follicle will be destroyed. You can expect up to 80% or more hair reduction. Yearly maintenance sessions for most people is required.
6 Sessions are recommended and for most clients depending on suitability. Refer to below.
Suitability for IPL or Laser Hair Removal
The colour of your hair and skin will determine your suitability for IPL Hair Removal. To check hair colour and skin colour suitability check the chart below.
